Getting Started with Rigid Heddle Weaving

Posted by LoftyFiber Admin on

Rigid heddle looms are a wonderful way to start entering the world of weaving!  Simpler to setup than a multi-shaft loom, it's also an economical way to start weaving.

Many start with the 15" Schacht Cricket loom.   Click on the link for pricing and "how-to" videos for assembling, warping and weaving on the Cricket.

The Ashford Rigid Heddle Looms  are also very popular and in a similar price range as the Cricket.   Click on the Ashford link for videos!  The Ashford rigid heddle looms support double heddles, allowing for more complex patterning and double width weaving.

Both Schacht and Ashford have a premium Rigid Heddle loom with the Schacht Flip Rigid Heddle Loom  and Ashford Knitters Loom .  Both of these premium looms fold, have a beautiful finish and offer different width options and canvas carrying bags.

All rigid heddle looms have options for a stand!   A nice option that you can add at any time. Other options are additional rigid heddle reeds, shuttles and pick-up sticks.
