Grandma knew what she was doing. Grandma’s Favorite Washcloth pattern starts with only 4 cast-on stitches and ends with only 4 stitches to cast off. It’s an easy pattern to remember and makes a beautiful washcloth. And it’s so easy to make it larger or smaller!  

Using LoftyFiber’s Pillow Soft organic cotton, and a size 7 knitting needle, these washcloths are a joy to knit. The plies don’t split easily, and it feels luscious!  

This pattern is a re-telling of Grandma’s Favorite Washcloth. When worked to 9 inches square, it shrinks to 7 ¾ inches (13%) when washed. Each 9” washcloth takes about 1 oz. of Pillow Soft cotton.  The kit has 4 oz of Pillow Soft cotton, enough for 3 or 4 washcloths.
