Thinking about Learning to Weave?  No idea where to start?  Do you knit or crochet, learn the terminology of weaving and how it compares to knitting and crochet (handout included)

In this class, you’ll be able to experience the following:

• Understand the differences in rigid heddle and shaft looms.  Differences in table and floor looms
• Watch a demo of setting up (direct warping) a rigid heddle loom - try out a few passes yourself to get the feel of of direct warping.
• Learn about the differences in setting up (warping) on a shaft loom vs a rigid heddle
• Learn about winding a warp chain and practice making a few passes on the warping board
• Weave a few minutes on a Rigid Heddle Loom
• Look at samples that you can make on a Rigid Heddle Loom
  
• Weave an inch or so on a shaft loom (and learn what that means!)
  
• Talk about yarn used in weaving (yes you can use up your stash)
• Introduction to reading a weaving draft (it’s like reading music)

The goal is to familiarize yourself with weaving terminology and have an idea of what is involved in setting up and weaving on various types of looms.
