Taught by Sherry Green, this hands-on class explores hem stitching as both a practical finish and a creative design element. Students learn the structure of Simple, Italian, and Square Hem Stitches, then use them to create ladder and trellis variations. Hemstitching isn't only for securing ends on scarves! These finishes are wonderful for embellishment on scarves, towels and other woven items.
Warped multi-shaft table looms and all materials are provided. Students leave with a finished hem-stitch sampler wall hanging and reference cards for future use.
Skill level: Must have weaving experience (can be Shaft or Rigid Heddle)
