Top Down Sock Class - Wednesdays in June with Talley Parker
*** CLASS IS FULL - Contact us to be placed on waiting list or repeat ***
Socks are one of the first and most useful garments ever knitted. They are comfortable for Winter or Summer and make wonderful gifts. If you are a beginning knitter you will learn many useful techniques while knitting socks. Among them are shaping, “Magic Loop” technique, picking up stitches, “reading” your knitting, paired decreases and Kitchener stitch. You will need to be able to knit and purl and cast-on to take this class but you will feel like a much more accomplished knitter when you are done.
This class will teach one sock at a time from the cuff down using one long (32” to 40”) size 1 or 2 circular needle. We suggest you use fingering weight wool yarn with at least 15% nylon to get the best wear and comfort from your socks. It is best to avoid black or navy blue yarn as the stitches will be difficult to see. We have a good supply of sock yarn at Lofty Fiber and will be happy to help you choose. The class includes four 2hr sessions on weekday afternoons from 1:00 to 3:00 o’clock.
June 1, June 8, June 15, June 22. 1 to 3pm
Please purchase your yarn at LoftyFiber for the class. We have a large variety of choices!
