
Rigid Heddle Sampler Class with Linen - July 28-29 2022
Prerequisites: Prior experience warping and weaving on a Rigid Heddle Loom.
Equipment needed: Rigid Heddle loom (narrow loom is fine), 8-dent reed, 2-shuttles, pick-up stick is helpful, darning needle. You can bring your own or contact LoftyFiber in advance if you want to purchase a loom so that it’s ready to weave.
Materials: Linen for warp and weft is included in the class fee. You’ll be able to choose from a number of colors. You can do a multi-color warp or a single color sampler.
What you’ll learn: How to work with linen on a rigid heddle loom, various Leno lace weaves, Danish Medallions, and other decorative patterns, hemstitching refresher. The sampler will be about 6” wide and 12-18 inches long. After the class, you will be able to plan a wall hanging, placemats, or spa cloths using the techniques you’ve learned.
