Handwoven Linen Bread Bag Euroflax Pattern and Yarn Kit
Handwoven published a Baker’s Bread Bag in the March/April 2015 issue. This bag was recently made available as a free pattern here: https://handwovenmagazine.com/free-project-bakers-bread-bag. Designed by Laura Demuth, this beautiful linen bag is perfect for keeping a crusty loaf fresh. The original project called for 16/2 linen in the warp and an 8/1 tow linen in the weft. Our version is woven completely in Euroflax 14/2 long-line linen. The tablet woven band in the original pattern is beautiful, but we opted for a simpler inkle woven band with only 16 ends that is quick to make.
This is a quick project that would make a wonderful gift for a baker. If you’ve never woven with linen and never tried double weave, here’s your chance to do both!
