This 2-day workshop starts with an explanation of the project plan and interpretation of the weaving draft. Students select their own colors for the warp and wind a 3-yard warp, then learn to set up their loom using the back to front method. If students need extra time to complete their scarf, a 3rd day can be added at no charge.
Each student has the use of a floor or table loom for the 2-day workshop. Several choices of yarns and colors will be available in the class price, including a high quality wool as well as a cotton or rayon choice.
Once registered, a student may choose from available looms. Register early for more choices. Students will have access to warping boards and reels, shuttles, bobbin winders and other weaving tools and supplies during the class. Students may also bring a personal loom to class, provided it’s in good working order (call to discuss). Class size is limited to 6.
Housing: hotel lists can be provided
Food: Coffee, tea and light snacks are provided. Lunch is not included in the class fee, but LoftyFiber will provide take-out options or students may go to a local restaurant.
